On the 26th, 27th, and 28th of October, 2022, Uzra Zeya will travel to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. By going there, she is bringing attention to the U.S.'s strategic efforts to combat corruption and enhance human rights, especially those pertaining to workers' rights and those without citizenship.
Undersecretary Zeya will represent the United States at the Third High-Level Dialogue on Institutional Reform in Santo Domingo. The Undersecretary is scheduled to meet with President Luis Abinader to talk about US-Dominican issues. Meeting with government officials, exchange programme alums, and journalists, Under Secretary Zeya will reaffirm the United States' dedication to protecting human rights, preventing corruption, protecting workers' rights, eradicating human trafficking, resolving the issue of statelessness, fostering climate adaptation and resilience, and assisting the people of Haiti.
