Patients taking oral anticoagulant therapy (OAT) should have their prothrombin time (PT) and international normalised ratio (INR) evaluated on a frequent basis to keep track of their blood coagulation levels and avoid issues caused by over or under coagulation. The PT/INR can be measured by a healthcare professional or by the patient. The fourth type of testing is patient self-testing, sometimes known as home testing. The purpose of this study was to see how patients felt about utilising portable coagulometer devices to self-test for PT/INR.
